Faithfulness – Being Faithful in Small Things

Luke 16:10 – “One who is faithful in very little is also faithful in much, and one who is dishonest in very little is also dishonest in much.
We are from an ‘INSTANT’ culture that do not understand patience or waiting. We are focused on the big prize, but do not enjoy the time it takes to reach. We love the destination but want to skip the journey.
The Bible says, if we are faithful in little, we will be faithful in much. So what is being Faithful? It is being obedient, reliable and responsible towards one’s duty in small things and big. We should learn to be faithful not only in situations that are easy, but also in times we know, it is going to be very difficult to follow the path God has asked us.
Let’s understand what does the Bible say about being faithful –
• A faithful man will be blessed (Proverbs 28:20)
• Faithfulness is a mandate for a good servant of God (1 Corinthians 4:2 )
• God loves a faithful person (Psalm 101:6)
So how should we be faithful –
• Listen – We should be tuned in with God all the time, to be able to listen to Him.
• Obey – Once we know what He said, just obey without making any reasons
I too struggle with being faithful, however God provides the grace.
Bible says Abraham was a faithful man. All the days of his life he obeyed every instruction of God faithfully. When God asked him to sacrifice his only son Isaac, which I imagine might have been by far the most difficult instruction to follow for Abraham. At this point, I believe Abraham asked God for GRACE to be faithful to climb that mountain. He did not reason with God, but just took a faith and trusted Him.
When we obey God in small tasks, He is building our character for bigger tasks
In Acts 8:26-39, Philip faithfully obeyed God’s word to go to the south road, where he met a eunuch. Philip, at first, did not know what was going to happen, but he faithfully followed the leading of God. Philip’s faithfulness led him to baptize the eunuch.
If you are feeling like “your mountain” is not moving, and God has been reminding you to do something specific. Stop making excuses! Its time you be faithful and obey God.
This is not your time to QUIT, but to see the GLORY OF GOD.
